Europe - Ukraine KIEV, Ukraine 2008 Kiev - Black Sea - Istanbul
INTRODUCTION TO UKRAINE: Ukraine is situated in the south-eastern part of Central Europe. The territory of Ukraine is mostly a level, treeless plain, called steppe. The climate of the country is moderate. Summers are quite warm and dry, with occasional showers and thunderstorms.
Ukraine's geographical location between Europe and Asia means that much of its early culture was a synthesis of Eastern and Western influences. Today Ukraine remains one of the least-known European countries. Ukraine's great natural beauty, rich cultural traditions, warmth and hospitality of the Ukrainian people make the country a wonderful place to visit.
The main Ukrainian river is the Dnieper. A river cruise is a great way to see Ukraine. The mighty Dnieper (Dnepr, Dnipro) crosses the whole country from North to South to empty into the Black Sea. Your cruise will include Kiev, Kaniv, Kremenchuk, Zaporizhye, Kherson, Sevastopol, Yalta, Odessa, and the incredible beauty of the Crimean Peninsula.
In 2008 our Kiev to Istanbul 15 day program includes the best ports of Ukraine and continues on to Moldova, Bulgaria, and Istanbul, Turkey aboard the beautiful MS Taras Shevchenko .
