A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth's view of the Sun. Total solar eclipses are very rare events for any given place on Earth. A total solar eclipse is a spectacular natural phenomenon and many people consider travel to remote locations in order to observe one. The next total solar eclipse will occur on August 1, 2008 and will be best viewed in Siberia, Russia.
We suggest you start your visit to Russia in Imperial St. Petersburg. Lunch at a popular local restaurant. Check-in at the hotel after 2 pm. Tour of Akademgorodok, the center of Russian National Academy of Science. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight.
